The cabin crew immediately stepped in to help Nafi Diaby and deliver her baby. The flight attendants used the plane’s available seats to make the experience as comfortable as possible. According to flight attendant Bouthayna Inanir, she initially thought Nafi was experiencing a miscarriage. However, when she saw the baby, she knew she had to help. Inanir mentioned that she had to take the baby from its mother and care for it.

The airline announced the birth on their Twitter account and posted pictures of the newborn with the flight crew. Upon arriving at Ouagadougou Airport, the mother and baby received medical attention and were both reported to be in good health.

Most airlines allow women up to 28 weeks pregnant to travel until their 36th week. According to Turkish Airlines, pregnant women can fly with a doctor’s note stating they are fit to travel. However, they cannot travel after that period, even with medical clearance.
