Many-flowered or small-flowered varieties of petunias are great for creating carpet-like plantings. They are hardy and less sensitive to weather, so you can plant them in early spring. Hybrid varieties, designed for specific garden areas, also perform well. Petunias look beautiful both as the main feature of flower beds and alongside other plants. They can be planted along the edges of a small pond or near pathways.

To keep your petunias looking beautiful, remember to water and fertilize them regularly. Spray the plants with complex fertilizers to prevent the roots from growing too much. Remove weak flowers to maintain the overall look. If you notice any rotting shoots, thin them out to keep the plants healthy.
