Neil Patrick Harris And His Family Adopt The Sweetest Rescue Dog
Every rescue dog dreams of finding a loving family, and one lucky dog just hit the jackpot.
Neil Patrick Harris and his husband, actor David Burtka, recently decided to expand their family and adopted a new furry friend named Gidget.
Gidget was rescued from the streets of Thailand by Project Street Dog Thailand and then brought to New York’s North Shore Animal League America.
“We began working with Project Street Dog Thailand in May,” Cindy Szczudlo, senior manager of rescue services at North Shore Animal League America, told The Dodo. “Gidget, a beautiful little dog, was one of our recent rescues who arrived a few weeks ago.”
Despite her tough past, Gidget is a very happy dog who loves everyone she meets.
“She’s incredibly affectionate, sweet, and friendly,” Szczudlo said. “She enjoyed playing with the cats in my office and has an amazing personality.”
Harris and Burtka are close friends with Beth Stern, who works with North Shore Animal League America. When they mentioned they were looking to adopt a dog, she immediately thought Gidget would be the perfect match for them.
Gidget is already loving her new home and seems very happy with how everything has turned out.
Enjoy your new family, Gidget. We’re looking forward to seeing lots more Instagram photos!
