Teacher Gives Anatomy Lesson Using Full-Body Suit With Detailed Human Body Mapping

Remember that teacher who truly cared? Who always went the extra mile? Verónica Duque embodies that spirit. Recently, the 43-year-old educator decided to elevate her students’ learning experience by delivering an anatomy lesson in a full-body suit that intricately mapped out the human body.

“I’ve been teaching for 15 years now,” Verónica shared with Bored Panda. “I cover subjects such as natural and social sciences, art, as well as English and Spanish.”

Currently teaching third grade, Verónica is continually seeking ways to make her lessons more engaging. “While browsing the internet, I came across an ad for a swimsuit on AliExpress. Recognizing the challenge young kids face in visualizing the arrangement of internal organs, I felt it was worth a try.”

Following her husband Michael’s tweet sharing photos from the lesson, Verónica quickly gained widespread attention. The tweet garnered over 65K likes and 14K comments, making her a symbol of innovation and commitment. Yet, she’s not finished surprising her students.

“I’ve been using costumes for history lessons for quite some time now,” she explained. “I’ve also introduced cardboard crowns to teach my students about grammatical categories like nouns, adjectives, and verbs. It’s like different grammar kingdoms.”

“I hope society will reconsider the perception of teachers as lazy bureaucratic public servants,” she added. “We’re certainly anything but.”

Observing Verónica in her suit, many internet users drew comparisons to Slim Goodbody.

Slim Goodbody, a character created by John Burstein, has been promoting children’s health for over forty years. His productions are currently viewed by millions of children through Discovery Education. Additionally, his live shows tour theaters across the US, reaching thousands of children annually. Slim has also authored fifty children’s books, and his contributions have earned accolades from Parent’s Choice, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, and the World Health Organization.
